“BLACK FLAG” is the continuation of “Blacklists”. On a twenty-meter long cloth, I’m embroidering the names of 280 people who have lost their lives at the border. Is a work in progress.

“Blacklists” is a series of thirty drawings, they are papers inked with graphite, on whose surface are written names of people who when trying to cross the Czechoslovak border were killed by the Communist border guard.
These names are “inscribed” by piercing the paper surface with a nail or needle. The names are taken from: “Ústav pro studium totalitních režimů” (Archive for the study of totalitarian regimes/ Czech Republic).

It works in two processes: perforate and illuminate, through the light that passes through the incisions, a hidden truth is revealed.
